On honouring tenderness.

Sunday, January 26, 2025.

It’s still deep winter in the Northern hemisphere.

You don’t have to launch into the year ‘strong’ but what if you did
You don’t have to begin the year in deep rest and replenishment but what if you did
You don’t have to begin the year hosting and being in community but what if you did
You don’t have to begin the year creating at the spark of midnight inspiration but what if you did
You don’t have to lean into the hard conversations but what if you did
You don’t have to be part of the sunrise club but what if you were
You don’t have to say no to that previous commitment but what if you did

All of January is new beginnings in one direction.
And reminders to cocoon and hibernate in the other.

What if you simply allowed yourself to fully be in whatever inner season you are experiencing?

This is honouring tender
Honoring all parts of us
Asking a gentle “what if”

Feeling into the contraction
Feeling into the expansion

Allowing all parts to co-exist
Allowing all parts to be acknowledged
Allowing all parts to have a place in time and space

Being an extension of love; an extension of God

Choosing new beginnings
Choosing completion

Honouring tenderness
Honouring being tenderized

Because here’s the thing…

You can be tender and still be bold
You can be tender and still speak your truth
You can be tender and still have a steady mind
You can be tender and still grounded in your heart

What if instead of neglecting the sensations of tenderness, we showed more appreciation for it?

What if we chose bold internal action? With more tenderness, more kindness, more patience, more reverence for our hearts and nervous systems.

What if you simply allowed yourself to fully be in whatever inner season you are experiencing?
